Although many members of his family had at some point enlisted (his paternal grandfather and uncle were also army, his maternal grandfather was a marine) there was actually very little pressure on Drew and his brothers to sign up though his parents were always determined they'd have 'real' jobs - medicine, police, trades...something like that. When one of his brothers showed an interest in art his mother openly admitted she was worried he'd turn out gay and that she was thankful Drew was such a sportsman, therefore giving her nothing to worry about. Which is kind of ironic as said brother, Scott, is as straight as they come while Drew much prefers men. Not that his parents know that. As it happens Drew never did enlist, though it wasn't out of fear or lack of interest...he was very aware that if his sexuality got out it could be an issue and, more importantly, he's well aware he could never fight for something, or at least someone, he didn't really believe in. Figuring it was safer not to risk either being a problem he instead pursued his love of football, winning a scholarship that took him to college where he picked up judo and got more serious about athletics. While he's trained and dabbled in many other sports these are still the three he gives the most time too, though athletics eventually out-passed football as his main interest. He majored in Sports Science then trained in teaching, though he only actually lectures a couple of classes a year and those are mostly at Freshman/Sophomore level. His primary work now is with the athletics team, who are doing pretty damn good, thanks for asking. Finance: Nobleman, so just fine History: As a boy Patroclus accidentally killed his friend, Clysonymus, when they got into an argument. Fearing that there would repercussions Patroclus' father took his son and fled to the castle of King Peleus, a close friend, for shelter. There Patroclus met Achilles, who was a little younger, and the boys were raised and trained together with Peleus sending both to be educated by Chiron, the King of the Centaurs. As men both were noted as brilliant warriors, though naturally Achilles' reputation far out-weighed that of his friend. Upon the declaration of the Trojan War both went to fight on the side of Agamemnon, whose brother had been cuckholded by Helen and Paris - Patroclus partly because he had been a suitor of Helen, all of whom had sworn to defend the honor or her eventual husband. Both fought well but when Achilles feuded with Agamemnon and refused to return to battle Patroclus took his armor and took to the field, leading the Myrmidons in his place without Achilles' knowledge. He made great account of himself, killing several noted Trojan allies before he was himself killed by Hector.
